How It Works
Choose your plan
Pick the level of support that’s right for you or your loved one:
Monitoring only – nationwide service that connects you to our 24/7 emergency team.
Monitoring and urgent response – available across Essex, includes home visits from trained responders.
Need help deciding? Contact us – we’re happy to advise.
Build your package
Once you have chosen your plan, we will then help you choose and build a fixed home alarm or GPS package to suit your individual needs. If you buy your plan on our website, you can also browse our online shop to add some of our add-ons.Â
Popular options include:
Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors – Linked to our 24/7 monitoring centre
Bed and chair sensors – Monitors movement or inactivity
Key Safes – secure emergency access for responders or family.
No direct debits are set if you pay online. You pay a one-off payment now, and we’ll set up your direct debit later. Your safety and peace of mind are our number one priority.Â
Get set up
We will set up the direct debit for your monthly plan, and your equipment will arrive ready to use.
You can choose:
Self-install – plug in and go (full instructions provided and equipment sent in the post).
Engineer install – we offer professional installation across Essex. This can be bought on our website or arranged over the phone.Â
We’ll guide you every step of the way.
Stay protected
Once installed, your alarm connects to our 24/7 team. In an emergency:
We speak to you directly through the alarm.
If needed, we alert a nominated contact or the emergency services.
If you’re in Essex and have the response plan, we dispatch a trained responder to your home – often within 45 minutes.
Carecall247 supports you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Am I exempt from VAT?
Some customers may be eligible for VAT relief when purchasing Carecall247 services.
VAT exemption refers to the government tax relief scheme that allows people with a disability or long-term medical condition to purchase emergency alarm systems without paying VAT.

You may be eligible if you are chronically sick or disabled. You do not need to be registered disabled or receiving other benefits to qualify.
- You have a physical or mental impairment that has a long-term and substantial adverse effect on your ability to carry out everyday activities
- You have a condition the medical profession treats as a chronic sickness (a long-term health condition)

You are not eligible for VAT relief if your condition is temporary (such as a broken leg) or if you are elderly without a chronic condition.
You’ll need to complete a VAT exemption form as part of your sign-up process. We’ll provide this to you when you order your alarm system.
