In April 2019 Mrs A activated her alarm and reported that she was having difficulty with her hearing aids. She was not able to hear the Operator’s questions so the Operator was unable to ascertain whether any further assistance was required. All of Mrs A’s contacts were called, but none were able to attend. The Operator sent a Carecall247 member of staff as Mrs A. had a Response service to check on her wellbeing. When the Carecall247 Responder arrived Mrs A. was found to be very unwell. The Carecall Responder changed the batteries in her hearing aids but also noticed that Mrs S. was not able to use her hands due to severe shaking, she had not taken her medication and seemed very frail. An Ambulance was called for Mrs A. and she was taken to hospital for treatment. Without the Carecall247 service this lady would not have received the help she needed so quickly and the situation could have been much worse for her.
